MI5 Files Show: Hitler Youth Leadership Met With Boy Scouts Founder

Posted in history, secret societies on March 9th, 2010

LONDON (AFP) – Scouting founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell was invited to meet Adolf Hitler after friendly talks with the Hitler Youth about forming closer ties, secret British files released Monday showed.

Britain’s Baden-Powell, who started the Scouts in 1907, held talks with German ambassador Joachim von Ribbentrop and Hitler Youth chief of staff Hartmann Lauterbacher on November 19, 1937.

Lauterbacher, then 28, was in Britain to foster closer relations with the Boy Scout movement and Ribbentrop invited Baden-Powell to tea with the Hitler Youth leader, newly declassified MI5 Security Service files revealed.

A letter from Baden-Powell to Ribbentrop the day after the meeting showed how he felt about the talks.

“I am grateful for the kind conversation you accorded me which opened my eyes to the feeling of your country towards Britain, which I may say reciprocates exactly the feeling which I have for Germany,” Baden-Powell wrote.

“I sincerely hope that we shall be able, in the near future, to give expression to it through the youth on both sides, and I will at once consult my headquarters officers and see what suggestions they can put forward.”

In a report on the meeting, Baden-Powell described Ribbentrop as “earnest” and “charming”.

He wrote: “I had a long talk with the ambassador, who was very insistent that the true peace between the two nations will depend on the youth being brought up on friendly terms together in forgetfulness of past differences.

“He sees in the Scout movement a very powerful agency for helping to bring this about if we can get into closer touch with the Jugend (Youth) movement in Germany.

“To help this he suggested that if possible we should send one or two men to meet their leaders in Germany and talk matters over and, especially, he would like me to go and see Hitler after I am back from Africa.”

He went on: “I told him that I was fully in favour of anything that would bring about a better understanding between our nations, and hoped to have further talks with him when I return from Africa.”

There is no evidence that Baden-Powell ever met Hitler.

Once the war had been under way for several years, the security services had no doubt about the nature of the Nazi youth wing.

An October 1944 intelligence assessment warned that the organisation should not be taken lightly and could not be compared to the Scouts.

It said: “It is a compulsory Nazi formation, which has consciously sought to breed hate, treachery and cruelty into the mind and soul of every German child.

“It is, in the true sense of the word, ‘education for death’.”

Nazi Seeds Of The CIA Uncovered

Posted in CIA on February 21st, 2010

There is a widely held belief that after the allied victory over Germany in WWII, the Nazis just went away. We never think about all of the Nazis that were never tried for their crimes. Sure there was a big trial at Nuremberg but the number tried was no where near the number of people it took to run Hitler’s war machine.

Thousands of Nazis simply went to work for the US Government. Scientists, intellegence agents, master tacticians, code experts, commuications experts, weapons engineers, and experts in mind control all joined the US Government payroll.

These new American employees were guilty of countless crimes during the war. Mass murderers and torturers had their crimes absolved and went right to work for Uncle Sam.  All of this was done behind the backs of the American people.

Hitler Lives on in Olympic Propaganda

Posted in crapaganda, history on January 13th, 2010

For the ancient Greeks, fire was a potent symbol of purity.  In the modern world, where antique pagan symbols generally don’t have much staying power, the flame still has the ability to purify: Witness the Olympic torch relay, now making its patient, painstaking way from the ruined temples of ancient Greece to the stunning Winter Games facilities of Vancouver 2010.

The torch relay represents the Olympics’ human side, the part that retains faith in the uncorrupted virtues global sport is meant to bring together every two years.

Through the hand-to-hand transmission of the eternal flame between both ordinary and extraordinary people, Games organizers ask us to see peace and friendship, hope and understanding, personal contact with the Olympic movement’s universal values and an unbroken continuity with the sporting purity of the ancient Greeks.

So, please, don’t mention the Nazis.
The torch relay in all its elaborate rituals and feel-good sponsorship opportunities turns out to be a creation of the people who are the byword for modern evil. Without the propaganda artists who staged the 1936 Berlin Olympics in all its triumphant glory, lovingly recorded in Leni Riefenstahl’s mesmerizing documentary film Olympia, we wouldn’t have the government-supported cross-country relay that is bringing the flame to Vancouver.

“The torch relay is a total fabrication,” says Ira B. Nadel of the University of British Columbia, who has studied the techniques Riefenstahl used to aestheticize the Nazi cause. “The Germans invented it for the 1936 Olympics. There was nothing like it in the ancient Olympics.”

You don’t need to know the details of German history to be skeptical of the idealistic claims made for the modern torch relay. As recently as 2008, the organizers of the Beijing Games showed how easily the Olympic ceremonials could be used to bolster the aspirations of an autocratic state by controversially routing the relay through Tibet and taking the ever-burning flame to the summit of Mount Everest.

White Power USA

Posted in white power on January 13th, 2010

Almost a year ago the inauguration of President Barack Obama was hailed as a turning point in US race relations.  The country was said to be entering a new era of post-racial politics, on the path to a future of greater diversity and tolerance.  But while crowds flocked to Washington to witness the swearing in, others were refusing to join the party.

Racially motivated threats against Obama rose to new heights in the first months of his presidency, with the US seeing nine high-profile race killings in 2009.  Meanwhile white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups claim their membership is growing and that visits to their websites are increasing.  Is the racial undercurrent that has long structured US politics reasserting itself?  Filmmakers Rick Rowley and Jacquie Soohen went inside the white nationalist movement to investigate.

Operation Cornflakes

Posted in history, US government on January 9th, 2010

During  World War II the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) initiated a  PSYOP mission that ran from 1944 to 1945 which involved getting the German postal service to inadvertently deliver Allied propaganda to German citizens through the German mail.

The operation involved planes dropping bags of fake, but properly addressed mail near freshly bombed mail trains. When the mail was recovered during clean-up of the train wreck, the postal service would confuse the false mail for the real thing and then it would enter the postal stream and be delivered to the various addresses.

The impostor mail often included copies of Das Neue Deutschland, the Allies’ German language propaganda news sheet.  The postage stamps used were also fake.   Designed to resemble the standard stamp with Adolf Hitler’s face, a close examination would reveal that his face is made to look like an exposed skull or similarly unflattering imagery. Also, the country identifier ‘Deutsches Reich’ (German Empire) read ‘Futsches Reich’ (Collapsed Empire).

The first Operation Cornflakes mission took place on 5 February 1945, when a  train to Linz was bombed. Bags containing a total of about 3800 propaganda letters were dropped at the site of the wreck, were recovered and delivered to Germans homes.
